I am excited to express my interest in joining your organization as an Instructional Technologist. With over six years of experience in the small business world, I have gained a strong understanding of how crucial technology is today. After seeing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, it became evident to me how important it is for businesses and educational settings to integrate technology in ways that work and create meaningful experiences for everyone involved.
Throughout my career, I have utilized various tools and platforms throughout my career, including Wix, WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact, Adobe applications, Google applications, and Microsoft applications. These tools have allowed me to help small business owners and clients design their websites, create logos, develop engaging graphics, and manage their online presence. My experience in graphic design and media has allowed me to create content that looks great and communicates effectively. I always focus on ensuring that the technology serves its purpose.
In addition to my experience in the business world, I am a certified EC-6th grade teacher. Working with young students has given me another perspective on the importance of using engaging and effective tech tools in the classroom. I have seen how technology can transform lessons into interactive and dynamic experiences, helping students better understand and retain information. This experience has reinforced my commitment to utilizing technology in ways that genuinely support and improve education.
Skilled in communication, collaboration, organization, and presenting ideas, I have successfully led projects, worked effectively with teams, and assisted others in understanding and utilizing technology. I believe technology should be easy to use and accessible to everyone, and I am dedicated to making that happen. These qualities will allow me to contribute positively to your organization.
Tamara Swedberg’s (2010) quote, "The main skill needed for instructional technology is a love for technology." perfectly reflects my own perspective. I always look for new ways to use technology and find solutions to make a difference. I genuinely enjoy learning about new tools, staying up-to-date with trends, and helping others discover the benefits of using technology in their work. In addition, I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Educational Instructional Technology. This academic journey has expanded my understanding of how technology can be used to create meaningful and transformative learning experiences.
